Parent Education Speaker Series

Thank you for your interest in Happy Corner’s Parent Education Speaker Series!  It is a night of information from experts in the field of children and their development.  We usually welcome the public and friends in the community to join us at our school, but while we are in the Covid-19 pandemic, it will be suspended until it is safe for us to gather again.  Keep your eyes on this page for further updates!

Current Happy Corner families will still have access to the Speaker Series through our Zoom Parent Education and General Meeting Nights.

Making Sense of Anxiety – Feb 11, 7pm

Anxiety can take many forms, including obsessions, compulsions, phobias as well as other perplexing behaviours. We cannot treat something we do not understand, and making sense of anxiety is fundamental in making headway.

We are delighted to be hosting a seminar by Dr. Deborah MacNamara, who will bring a fresh and promising perspective to one of our most troubling human problems and discuss how we can help our children overcome anxiety.

Dr. MacNamara is an experienced counsellor with over 20 years of experience in educational and mental health settings. She is the bestselling author of “Rest, Play, Grow: Making Sense of Preschoolers (Or Anyone Who Acts Like One)”, and she is on faculty at the Neufeld Institute.

5th Annual WINTER PUB NIGHT – Nov 23rd

Join us at The Pint on November 23, 2019 starting at 4:30 for some food, silent auction and lots of fun and games! You can buy tickets for $20 from a Happy Corner family or they can be purchased at the door for $25. Everyone is welcome! All proceeds will go directly into school operations.

Fundraising Events

We have several fundraising events each year. Much of what we value at the school is fully funded by fundraising money. This includes field trips, Parent Education speakers, the garden, school and art supplies, capital projects and larger items such as furniture.

A big Thank You to supporters, donors and families for our 4th Annual Winter Pub Night!
